Launch of pilot/research program in local schools!

Manners of the Heart has spent the summer preparing to invest in the youth of our community. We are proud to announce The Heart Project which will impact the hearts of 2,000 youth in six elementary and secondary public schools in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Manners of the Heart programs strengthen morals, improve social and emotional skills and increase respectfulness – the lack of which we believe is the cause of today's problems in education. Through our programs, manners are used as a teaching tool. Manners are taught not as a set of rules, but as an attitude of the heart rooted in self-respect and respect for others.

We will pilot our newly revised Manners of the Heart© K-3 curriculum and will be working this school year while also collecting data to support the work we are doing community-wide. Through the implementation of our programs,

      Students will develop:
      • Self respect and respect for others
      • Integrity to do the right thing because it's the right thing to do
      • Personal responsibility & a strong work ethic
      Schools will experience:
      • A rise in academic performance
      • A decrease in disciplinary action
      • An increase in parental involvement
